Valentine's Day // Gift Idea for Your Busy-man

I thought this would be a unique, creative, and impressive gift for your hard working hunk-a hunk-a man!  These collar stays are metal, so they don't bend easily like the plastic ones that typically come with these types of shirts, but of course the BEST part is that you can have them engraved with personal little love messages.  Another big perk of ordering these from Personalization Mall, is that they come in this nice little black velvet box.  Fancy.

If you have kids, you could let them in on this by personalizing one or two from them.

If you want to go a step further, they have cufflinks too.  Not just any cufflinks though....

Photo Cufflinks!
They also have all these
Of course you'll want to find a nice shirt (make sure they have a slot for the collar stays though!) to round it all off.

AND don't forget the candy!!  I was at Micheal's yesterday, and they had some really cute non drug store looking candy... so make sure to check them out!

xoxo

What I found at the DOLLAR TREE for Valentine's Day!

There are 2 main reasons I do these posts.  1) To show you guys what's on the store shelves, without you having to get out of your chair, and 2) So that I get to relive my shopping day.  Some people take pictures on vacation to reminisce, I take pictures on shopping trips.
Same idea.
Don't judge me.

My Dollar Tree Finds
I have to admit, there were a couple things I was impressed by here!

You Had Me At Merlot

Picture
Place mat: Target//Heart Tag: Target//Chocolate Covered Pretzels : Here

Just a quick easy post today!

I found this tag at Target, but I've seen them at Michaels too.  I actually like the ones at Michaels better, because they don't have the chalk holder attached to it, which was pretty inconvenient when I was trying to legibly write "You had me at Merlot."  For that reason,  I recommend finding a basic heart shaped chalkboard tag!

If you don't want to use chalk, a gold, silver, or red paint pen (also available at Michaels) would work.  It might look better too.  The only problem is, you only get one chance to write your message ;).  If you have a steady hand, then go for it!  I would definitely screw it up and need to buy like FIVE tags.

The weekend's almost here!! Hang in there!

What Walgreens Has For Valentine's Day!

I'm kind of obsessed with Walgreens all of a sudden.
I don't know how that happened?

But it did, and I'm ok with that.

And, now for some reason my boyfriend likes to stop in and browse through their seasonal section too.  So, that's what we did tonight.
We really know how to have a good time on a Saturday night ;).
I took a few pictures to share my favorite finds with you guys.
Maybe I'll bring you over to the other side too :).
Ok, so here are my favorite finds for Valentine's Day!

What Target Has For Valentine's Day | Part 1 of...?? :)

I've been to Target a lot lately.  I can't stay away....
The apartment my boyfriend found for us (here in Texas) is maybe 3 miles away from a SUPER Target.  Betcha he'll do his research a little better next time :).

So, I took a bunch of photos of my favorite Pink -slash- Valentine's Day related items.  If you're looking for a few ideas for your girlfriend, roommate, daughter, sister, or friend... check it out!  OR if you just want to see what's in stock... that works too ;).

DIY Valentine's Day Matching Game

I spent all Monday with my 5 little cousins, and I know they're looking forward to Valentine's Day just as much as I am.  When I visited them last week, they were already decorating their entire first floor with big hearts, red garland, and the cutest ribbon & heart banner I've seen!

I wanted to come up with another crafty project to keep them busy, so I came up with
Valentine's Day Matching Game

also commonly known as "Memory"

So I must confess, the game pictured is not the exact version we made...

A box to keep your "cards" in is necessary!
I found this one at the dollar store.
Picture
Ok, so here are the only supplies you'll need for this easy DIY project:
Picture
1. 2 identical packs of stickers (these were from the Dollar Tree!)
2. At least 2 pieces of SOLID card stock paper*
3. At least 2 pieces of printed, decorated paper*
4. Glue stick
5. Large heart punch like this one
6. A box or other container to hold your playing cards
7. Scissors*

*If making with little ones, I recommend buying more than 2 pieces of card stock and 2 pieces of printed paper.  Their favorite part will be punching out the hearts, and they won't be focusing on paper conservation!

*You'll need scissors to trim the card stock/printed paper in order to punch out more hearts from the center, and you might need them to trim any sticker that sticks out over the edges.
Easy Instructions
1. Decide how many hearts you need by counting the number of stickers you'll be using.
2. Punch out that number of hearts in both the card stock, and printed paper.
3. Using your glue stick, attach your card stock hearts to your printed hearts to make the cards.
(Make sure to line them up the best you can!)
4. Apply stickers to the center of the blank side of the cards.
Make sure every card has a match!
To Play
  • Randomly spread out cards, face side down.  You can line them up in rows, or to make things a little more challenging, spread them out in a messy circle.
  • Taking turns, each person flips over 2 cards...attempting to match the first card to the second.
  • If the 2 cards flipped over do not match, the player turns them back over in the same spot they were in.  As each card is turned over, the players will try to remember where they are.
  • When a player gets a match, they take those cards.
  • The person who has the most matches at the end of the game, wins!
Here are some iPhone pics of the game we made on Monday

I bought Disney stickers because this family lives, eats, and breathes Disney :)
I highly recommend finding stickers of things your kids will LOVE.  It takes the game playing to a whole new level ;).

I found these at Hobby Lobby.

We didn't get to decorating the box, but our plan was to paint it and/or decoupage it.

And this is just one of the many games we played :)

Valentine's Day Baby!

On Valentine's Day, gifts are traditionally exchanged between couples, but sometimes, the luckiest kids get a small gift too. My Mom always had something for my brother and I... all the way up through college :).  Actually, the ones she sent while I was in college were the BEST!  It's so nice to get a package from Mom when you're away from home :).

Anyway-
That's not where I'm going with this.  Not really anyway.

I came across these cute little baby books, which I thought would be nice to send to my friends baby.  And actually she would never expect me to send her daughter something for Valentine's Day, so that kind of makes me want to send something even more ;).

Oh man, I really hope I get a job soon.
I promise when I do, I will follow through with these little ideas I share with you guys..

Here are some books I found for the itty bitties, for this Valentine's day
