Valentine's Day Sweet Potato Fries

Let me first start out by saying, that I am usually a kitchen nightmare.  I'll "show & tell" you how I made these, but I recommend googling an official sweet potato fry recipe (if you don't already have one).
Mine honestly weren't bad, but the goal of this post was to give you the idea of making heart shaped sweet potato fries.  You could do this with regular potatoes too of course.
They'd go perfectly on a plate, sitting next to a big beefy manly steak, don't you think? ;)

First, cut your sweet potato into quarter inch slices.  Then cut them into hearts using a small cookie cutter.  Make sure the thickness of your slices doesn't exceed the thickness of your cookie cutter.

Toss with just enough olive oil to coat the potatoes, and season with your choice of spices.
Mix again until spices seem evenly distributed.
I chose garlic powder, pepper, and paprika.
I've also made the sweet and spicy version too, and that was yum!

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Bake for about 15-20 mins, flipping them halfway through.
Watch them carefully to make sure they don't burn....take it from someone who knows!

Enjoy!!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Need a break from all the lovey dovey cheesy corny mushy stuff?  Haha.  If you're looking for some funny anti Valentine's Day ideas, or just get a kick out of them like me, I found some funny stuff on Etsy today.
I'll be sharing that with you tomorrow!

xoxo
Ashley

    1. Thanks Bonnie :) I LOVE blogging, and I love fashion, but was having a hard time with taking so many pictures once it was dark by the time I was getting home from work! Plus, I can do this in my pjs ;)
