My own epic fail. This makes my boyfriend pee his pants. He shows all of our friends...
So if you're like me, and you're  invited to a dinner party, and don't feel like wasting your time or money on some Pinterest recipe that's sure to end up on epicpinterestfail.com, do yourself and everyone else a favor.... bring a game instead.

Here are a few I found that seem promising. *Note, I haven't played all of these yet....I'm going strictly off the reviews!

Foodie Fight
This game had great reviews, and it's set up much like  the familiar game, Trivial Pursuit.  Foodie Fight must've been a huge hit, because they've now come out with Foodie Fight Rematch!  Here is the description provided on Amazon:

"Calling all food lovers! This addictive trivia game allows players to strut their culinary stuff and prove who is the smartest foodie of them all. With over 1,000 questions on topics ranging from culinary science and celebrity chefs to food history and exotic cuisine, each player is bound to get a full serving of food knowledge. But think fast, because the first player or team to fill in their game board wins!"
Includes:
- Deck of trivia cards
- Six game boards
- Color die

Wine Wars
From the reviews, it seemed that many people who loved the game "Foodie Fight", also loved Wine Wars.  Here is the description from Amazon:

"This fun and fascinating trivia game tests your knowledge of the fruit of the vine. Let the battle begin as players answer questions in categories such as Vine to Vino (growing grapes, making wine, and world production), Wine Cellar (selecting, storing, and tasting wine), and Cork Culture (wine people, business, arts and science, and trivia). Perfect for those new to the world of wine, but challenging enough for the devoted oenophile, Wine Wars will have you swirling, sniffing, and sipping your way to vinicultural victory."

Eat it
In the reviews, many people stated it was good to play this one with a mixed age group, as there were some questions that involved brand names that are no longer made today, making it a little nostaligic for some :)

Below is the description copied straight from Amazon.com.

"Snacks and Sweets Trivia Game is an exciting board game about the fun foods that everyone loves to eat
  • Game board, die, thousands of fun questions on trivia cards, game pieces
  • Answer the questions correctly, make your way to the top of the Snack & Sweets Pyramid

Scrabble Cooking Version
I read that this version strays far from the original Scrabble version that we all know so well, but it still had overall great reviews.

  • Custom game board stylized with cooking theme
  • Custom tile rack designed to hold recipe cards
  • 25 recipe cards

Table Topics
Ok, I have played this one!  It's pretty good.  There are many different versions too.  Be sure to check them all out.  I played the girls night out version at dinner before a Bachelorette Party.  It was a good ice breaker for the girls who didn't know each other.  This description is for the original one:
  • Engaging questions that inspire the best kinds of conversation
  • Keep on the family dinner table or your desk at work, use as coasters during cocktail hour or set at each place for dinner parties
  • A fun way for family and friends to reconnect and discover more about themselves and each other
  • Table Topics promises a new experience every time
  • Makes the perfect dinner party hostess gift

Cards Against Humanity
I've played this one too.  This is for ADULTS only, and only for adults who can handle a dirty, raunchy, politically incorrect time!  Of course it's much better after a few adult beverages. wink wink.  Hey, I'm not the only person who has "shamefully" played this card game... its got over 5,000 FIVE star reviews!  So don't judge me :) Already played this?  They now haveexpansion packs. Yay!
  • 550 cards (460 White cards and 90 Black cards)
  • Over 13 duodecillion possible rounds (10^40) with 6 players
  • Professionally printed on premium playing cards
  • Includes game rules and alternate rules, shrink-wrapped in a custom box
  • 0% of the proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation

Mad Gab
This one cracks me up every time.  I happen to LOVE this game.  Of course, it's  a lot more entertaining for people who haven't played before.  I wish they would come out with more versions!

  • Teams work to decipher groups of unrelated words into real phrases before time runs out
  • Timer included to monitor each teams time
  • It's a game sure to spur laughter
  • Includes 1,200 mad gab puzzles on 300 cards, timer unit, flipper unit, timer/flipper label, score pad and instructions
  • For 2 to 12 players

If you've come across a great game, let us know!  My friends and I are big card and board game fans, and are always looking for something new.  Thanks!
